This video lesson covers some cool chord shapes that every Intermediate guitar player should have in their pocket. The chords I’m talking about are Drop 2 and Drop 3 Chords. The Drop 2 and Drop 3 chord in particular I’m covering is CMaj7. The CMaj7 chord consists of the notes C, E, G, and finally B. In other words this chords consists of the root, major 3rd, 5th, and major 7th interval. Throughout this video you will learn four drop 2 chords and four drop 3 chords. I’ll also teach you a useful formula on how to come up with these chords. The way a Drop 2 chord sounds is kind of clustered and very close together. They are in my opinion harder to recognize than the Drop 3 chords but still are important chords. Drop 3 chords are spread out and are easy to hear and also versatile for arranging. This chords are closely associated with jazz music but I suggest any guitar player pick them up because they do help in out development as guitar players.
